Premiere of the world musical "FAME"

The world musical "FAME" comes to life on the summer graffiti stage of the Plovdiv Opera in the yard of the Technical University in the city on June 8, 9 and 10 at 20:45. The title became famous with Alan Parker's 1980 film and the title song, which won an Oscar and a Golden Globe, performed by disco star Irene Kara. In Bulgaria, the hit gained additional popularity with the musical reality show "Star Academy" in 2005. The musical, written by Jose Fernandez, music by Steve Margocshes and lyrics by Jacques Levy, traces the difficult path to the heights of fame of a group of ambitious and talented students at the College of Arts in New York. Their struggles, triumphs and turbulent relationships are presented with sincerity, and the story touches on complex issues such as racial prejudice and drug abuse that young performers face in their pursuit of a career in show business.

"Dream and believe that you will do great things" is the message of the premiere production with director Petar Odazhiev, conductor Konstantin Dobroykov, artist Nikolina Kostova - Bogdanova and choreographer Amedeo Junta. The beautiful building of the former French College in Plovdiv on Tsanko Dustabanov Street will be transformed with a mapping by the visual artist Petko Tanchev. Soloists and orchestra of Opera Plovdiv take part in "FAME", and the central youth roles are entrusted through casting of young performers - celebrities from television formats, rising stars from all over Bulgaria and talents from AMTII - Plovdiv. The production is realized with the assistance of the Sofia Academy of Musical Theater. The Bulgarian translation is by Tsvetomira Tsoneva.
The premiere of "FAME" is the main focus of the Graffiti Opera Open program for young audiences, but the title with memorable music and attractive dances is aimed at fans of musicals and the disco era of all ages. Tickets for “FAME” are sold at the box office of Opera Plovdiv and at the box office of OPERA OPEN, at the box office of Eventim, online at eventim.bg and grabo.bg
