Top musicians and 3D mapping at the concert "ORPEHUS AND PAGANINI"

On 10 June 2017, in the Ancient Theater of Plovdiv, internationally renowned artists will present a modern fairytale, inspired by the myth of Orpheus. This remarkable performance will open the outdoor festival Opera Open 2017. “The Bulgarian Paganini” – the violin virtuoso Mario Hossen, Arena di Verona Quartet, Michel Deneuve (crystal organ), and one of the promising young artists of La Scala, the mezzo-soprano Nicole Brandolino, will take us in the musical footsteps of the legend of Orpheus, with pieces from Orpheus by Claudio Monteverdi, Orpheus and Eurydice by Christoph Willibald Gluck (the same ghostly Ritter Gluck, described by E.T.A. Hoffmann), Orpheus in the Underworld by Jacques Offenbach, Orphic Dances by the Bulgarian composer Georgi Arnaudov, etc.

With the priceless participation of the orchestra, the choir and the ballet of State Opera Plovdiv, under the conducting of Jean Ferrandis the performance will be even more impressive, using multimedia effects. The Ancient Theater is undoubtedly the most suitable venue for this ambitious project – adjusted for contemporary art, and at the same time carrying the spirit of antiquity, it will welcome the international and Bulgarian artists for “Orpheus and Paganini”, as part of the program Plovdiv European Capital of Culture 2019. The concert is organized with the support of Unicredit Bulbank, and with the media partnership of Classic FM radio and Jazz FM radio.
