Тhe Creative Team of Opera Plovdiv includes distinguished professionals such as artists, conductors, choir masters, painters, set designers, video artists and choreographers. They work together to create unique and memorable performances that inspire the audience.
The soloists of Opera Plovdiv are distinguished vocal performers with their own unique style and artistic signature. Their talent and professionalism contribute to the quality of the performances, making each show an unforgettable experience.
The Orchestra of the State Opera – Plovdiv is the successor of the Plovdiv Philharmonic – the first provincial and most prestigious state orchestra, founded in 1945. Since the 2024/2025 season, the chief conductor is Grigor Palikharov. The orchestra has a rich repertoire of classical and contemporary music and many world premieres of works by Bulgarian and foreign composers.
The Ballet of the Plovdiv Opera is an international troupe composed of dancers from eight different countries. They have all chosen Plovdiv as their creative home.
The choir of Opera Plovdiv is an integral part of the city’s musical theatre. Founded in 1953, today the ensemble is regularly featured on both the theatrical and concert stage.

The technical teams and workshops of the Plovdiv Opera play a key role in creating our performances. They consist of specialists who manage stage mechanics, lighting, and sound, as well as carpenters, metalworkers, painters, tailors and wigmakers who craft the sets, costumes and props. Their work behind the scenes ensures the flawless execution and visual magic of every production.
The administrative department of the Plovdiv Opera takes care of the organizational and financial aspects of our activities and it ensure the opera’s efficient operation, promote our events, and maintain connections with the audience and partners.
