As part of the project “Together Again”, Opera Plovdiv is pleased to invite the students  of Plovdiv to the premiere of Mozart’s opera “Die Zauberflöte” – a production by leading theatre director Diana Dobreva, conducted by Maestro Dian Tchobanov!

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the following changes have been made to the performances of Mozart’s “The Magic Flute”:

Opera Plovdiv celebrates an outstanding achievement with a record number of nominations in two of the most prestigious honors on the Bulgarian performing arts scene – the “Crystal Lyre” Awards, presented by the Union of Musicians and Dancers in Bulgaria and Classic FM, and the Annual Awards of the professional dance community “Impulse 25”.

The Box Office of Plovdiv Opera will be closed from October 3rd to October 7th (inclusive)

World-renowned soprano Nino Machaidze will present an unforgettable evening to the Bulgarian audience, featuring some of the most famous arias for soprano on September 26 at 7:00 PM on the stage of the Boris Hristov House of Culture in Plovdiv.

Due to the lack of available dates at the Ancient Theatre in September, State Opera Plovdiv is adding two special indoor performances of the musical HAIR

OPERA OPEN 2025 presents the premiere of the musical HAIR by Gerome Ragni, James Rado, and Galt MacDermot on August 24 at 8:30 PM at the Ancient Theatre in Plovdiv. Created more than half a century ago, this work remains emblematic of the anti-war movement in the USA against the Vietnam invasion and of the hippie era.

Due to the busy schedule of the Ancient Theatre and the commitments of the soloists from the Spanish National Ballet, the performance of Swan Lake cannot be rescheduled within the Opera Open festival.

The soprano Nino Machaidze is forced to cancel her performance in La Traviata at OPERA OPEN on July 5 due to a vocal cord illness, for which she apologizes to the audience.

The conceptual performance The Five Elements by Italian violinist and composer Alessandro Quarta will open OPERA OPEN 2025 at the Ancient Theatre of Plovdiv on Tuesday, July 1, starting at 9:00 PM.
