AUDITIONS

Full-time position of Associate Principal French Horn. The audition process will be in two rounds, the first one of which will be the evaluation of video recordings. The candidates approved for 2nd round will be asked to audition in person in Plovdiv with repertoire sent personally via email office@operaplovdiv.bg. The date of the live audition will be during the last week of October.

The repertoire for the video evaluation is:

1. W.A.Mozart - Horn Concerto No.2 OR Horn Concerto No.4
2. R.Strauss - Horn Concerto No.1 OR P.Ducas - "Villanelle for French Horn and Orchestra"
3. Orchestral excerpts:
- Tchaikovsky - Symphony No.5, Second movement: Andante
- Beethoven - Symphony No.7
- Rossini - Il barbiere di Siviglia, Overture
- Shostakovich - Symphony No.5, First movement
- R.Strauss - "Ein Heldenleben"
- R.Strauss - "Don Juan"
- Ravel - Pavane
- Ravel - Piano Concerto in G, First movement
- Verdi - Don Carlos, Overture
- Bruckner - Symphony No.4, First mov

A pianist will be provided by State Opera Plovdiv.
