Празничен концерт на Опера Пловдив с виртуозния цигулар Веско Ешкенази на площад „Централен“

Opera Plovdiv and the Municipality of Plovdiv invite residents and visitors of the city to a festive gala concert titled "The Opera and the City" featuring world-renowned violinist Vesko Eschkenazy. The event will take place on June 14 (Saturday) at 8:30 PM on the pedestrian overpass on Gladstone Street (Central Square). The concert will feature soloists and the orchestra of Opera Plovdiv under the baton of Maestro Dian Tchobanov, the institution's director. The program includes popular works by Massenet, Piazzolla, Saint-Saëns, Tchaikovsky, Vivaldi, Bizet, Cilea, Dvořák, and Johann Strauss.

The musical celebration Classic Open Air will begin earlier, at 8:00 PM, at the Roman Stadium, where the photo exhibition "The Opera Is Here" will be opened. From there, a festive parade of young performers from the Opera Plovdiv Academy will proceed to the main stage on the overpass. After the gala concert, the audience will also enjoy an impressive performance by percussion duo Simeon Popov and Ivaylo Ivanov, as well as a dance performance featuring ballet dancers from Opera Plovdiv.

The event is free of charge and follows the example of many major European cities, where open-air concerts by local orchestras and opera houses become major citywide cultural celebrations. The concert is part of Opera Plovdiv’s annual open-air program Classic Open Air, realized with the financial support of the Municipality of Plovdiv and included in the city's Cultural Calendar.
