Opera Open 2018

OPERA OPEN 2018 will take place from June 23rd to July 29th at the Ancient Theatre in Plovdiv. The summer program of the Plovdiv Opera features twelve exciting productions, once again showcasing internationally renowned soloists.

The guest performers include soloists from the Bolshoi Theatre in Swan Lake; Alberto Gazale, with a career at Arena di Verona, in Otello; principal soloists of the Croatian Ballet in Giselle; leading Korean soprano Hai Yoon Lee in the premiere of Madama Butterfly; virtuoso pianists Andreas Kern and Paul Cibis in the global show format Piano Battle; distinguished musicians Vesko Eschkenazy and Ludmil Angelov in a passionate Argentine music project; soloists from the Budapest Operetta and the Vienna Volksoper in an Operetta Gala; Vienna State Opera soloist Nadia Krasteva in her iconic role as Carmen; the charming American soprano Joanna Parisi in Il Trovatore; Bulgarian singers with international careers Alexandrina Pendatchanska, Kamen Chanev, Ivan Momirov, Deian Vatchkov, and Krum Galabov; conductor of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in London, Grzegorz Nowak, in Carmen; and musical theatre stars Orlin Goranov and Marian Bachev, among many others.
