To ensure a pleasant experience for all visitors, please adhere to the following basic rules:

  • Arrive on time for the performances.
  • Turn off the sound on mobile devices during the performance.
  • Do not take photos or record the performances or parts of them.
  • Show respect to the artists and other audience members.
  • Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!

Please familiarize yourself with the conditions for visiting Plovdiv Opera:

  1. Plovdiv Opera reserves the right to make changes to the casts and the program of performances without prior notice to the audience.

  2. It is recommended that the audience arrive at Plovdiv Opera 30 minutes before the scheduled performance time indicated on the ticket, take their seats at least 10 minutes before the start, and return on time after the intermission.

  3. Latecomers will be seated in a designated service row until the intermission if there are available seats. No one will be allowed entry 15 minutes after the performance has begun.

  4. It is prohibited in the building of Plovdiv Opera, as well as in other venues where performances are held, to:

  • Bring and consume food and/or drinks in the hall.
  • Smoke in any form.
  • Bring and use narcotic or intoxicating substances and any other harmful substances dangerous to the health and safety of visitors.
  • Bring and use weapons, ammunition, explosives, pyrotechnic products, and other dangerous items.
  • Use a mobile phone, talk, make noise, run, climb, jump, push, or engage in any other impolite or unacceptable actions that create discomfort or disturbance to other viewers and the artists on stage.
  • Take photos, make audio and/or audiovisual recordings, or stream the performance in full or in parts, using any technical means, as well as violate copyright and/or related rights.
  • Allow entry to persons visibly intoxicated, overly excited, or aggressive, or under the influence of narcotics.
  • Allow entry to individuals dressed inappropriately, such as wearing shorts, tracksuits, flip-flops, or any other unsuitable attire for the prestige of Plovdiv Opera.
  • Leave minors unsupervised.
  • Enter rooms closed to the public.
  1. When choosing a performance, visitors should consider the time and legal restrictions for accompanying persons under 18 years of age.

  2. Children under 7 years of age are not allowed to attend evening performances.

  3. Children under the age limit for specific performances are not allowed.

  4. People with disabilities and/or their companions may request assistance from the front-of-house staff if needed.

  5. Plovdiv Opera provides a cloakroom where visitors can leave outerwear, including accessories (hats, scarves, umbrellas, etc.), and/or luggage free of charge.

  6. Plovdiv Opera (Boris Christoff Cultural Center) monitors order through 24-hour video surveillance and permanent physical security. Security personnel carry official identification cards with photos, distinguishing marks, and uniforms.

  7. Plovdiv Opera is committed to ensuring that its staff treats everyone with dignity and respect and expects the same from visitors.

Accompanying Children in Public Places After 8:00 PM and 10:00 PM:

According to Article 8, paragraph 3 of the Child Protection Act, parents, guardians, curators, or other caregivers of a child are obliged to accompany the child in public places after 8:00 PM if the child has not reached the age of 14, and after 10:00 PM if the child is 14 but has not reached 18 years of age.

According to Article 5a of the Regulation for the Specialized Protection of Children in Public Places, in cases where a parent, guardian, or another caregiver provides an adult, legally capable person to accompany a child aged 14 but under 18 years old in public places after 10:00 PM, this must be certified with a declaration according to the prescribed form, as per the appendix.
