Gabriela Georgieva

Gabriela Georgieva is one of Bulgaria's leading dramatic sopranos. She graduated from the Pancho Vladigerov National Academy of Music under the guidance of Prof. Rusko Ruskov and later specialized at the Boris Christoff Academy for Arts and Culture in Rome. She further refined her vocal artistry under the mentorship of renowned Bulgarian opera stars Kaludi Kaludov and Ghena Dimitrova.

Her professional career began in 2002 with her debut as Leonora in Verdi's Il Trovatore. Since then, she has appeared on the stages of some of Europe's leading opera houses and festivals, including the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, the opera houses of Zurich, Bern, Graz, Rijeka, and Zagreb, the Split Summer Festival, the Baths of Caracalla in Rome, and the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City. In 2013, she made her debut at the Vienna State Opera as Amelia in Verdi's Un Ballo in Maschera, performing alongside the internationally acclaimed tenor Roberto Alagna. In 2014 and 2015, she was invited to the Metropolitan Opera as the cover for Anna Netrebko in productions of Verdi's Macbeth and Aida.

Her repertoire includes many of the most demanding dramatic soprano roles, including Aida, Tosca, Turandot, Abigaille (Nabucco), Leonora (Il Trovatore), Amelia (Un Ballo in Maschera), Elisabetta di Valois (Don Carlo), Manon Lescaut, Norma, Odabella (Attila), Gioconda, Dido (Dido and Aeneas), and Leonora (La Forza del Destino).
