National Musical Theatre "Stefan makedonski"

The National Musical Theatre is the only specialised theatre in Bulgaria dedicated to the genres of operetta and musical. Throughout its long history, it has established strong traditions in the field of popular musical and stage art.

In 2018, 100 years were marked since the beginning of professional operetta in Bulgaria – 70 of them belong to the history of the Musical Theatre. It is the direct successor to the stage achievements of the first private operetta theatres in Bulgaria, which paved the way for operetta as an art form captivating with its brilliance and vitality.
