"The Day After Tomorrow" - premiere of a dance-theater by world-renowned choreographer Radu Poklitaru, presented by the Ballet of the Plovdiv Opera. Following "The Long Christmas Dinner," this is the second production the founder of the Academic Theater for Modern Ballet in Kiev is presenting in Plovdiv. The premiere is scheduled for March 5th at 7:00 PM at the Plovdiv Drama Theater. The two Plovdiv cultural institutions collaborate to popularize the genre of "dance-theater," which combines dance movements and choreography with acting and dramatic situations.

"Tomorrow After Today" consists of two one-act dance pieces. "Rain" is a philosophical tale presented in a choreographic suite, depicting the destinies of people brought together involuntarily in time and space. The ethnic music, combined with energetic preludes and fugues from J.S. Bach's "Well-Tempered Clavier," provide a beautiful foundation for Radu Poklitaru's dance theater. For the premiere in Plovdiv, the choreographer incorporates Bulgarian folk dance. Costume design is by Anna Ipatieva, and lighting design is by Olena Antokhina.

"Tomorrow," set to music by Chopin, tells the story of those who live here and now, who create, discover, make mistakes, love, and hate. "What we do at the moment - where we are going and what we are doing - determines our future for a day, a week, a year. We ourselves decide what our Tomorrow will be after today, and we live entirely for it now," says Radu Poklitaru. Costume design for "Tomorrow" is by Artem Shoshin, who also serves as assistant choreographer.

The international ballet troupe of the Plovdiv Opera, under the artistic direction of Mariana Kruncheva and rehearsal director Petia Dimova, participates in "Tomorrow After Today."

World-renowned choreographer Radu Poklitaru, born in Chisinau, Moldova, is the founder and chief ballet master of the Academic Theater for Modern Ballet in Kiev. He is a distinguished figure in Ukrainian culture, a People's Artist of Moldova, a laureate of the "Person of the Year" award, and the recipient of numerous European international awards. Besides dozens of productions with the Kiev Modern Ballet, he has staged ballet performances at the Bolshoi Theatre, the Mariinsky Theatre, and the National Operas of Ukraine, Moldova, Latvia, Belarus, the Czech Republic, Serbia, and others.
