A Gala concert in honor of Rayna Kabaivanska

OPERA OPEN will end with a spectacular celebration in the anniversary year of Rayna Kabaivanska in 2024. On September 15th, at the Ancient Theater in Plovdiv, seven internationally renowned artists from Rayna Kabaivanska's School will present an inspiring program, showcasing key moments from the career of the Bulgarian soprano. Alexandrina Mikhaylova, Baya Saganlidze, Veronika Simeoni, Mila Mihova, Reynaldo Droz, Toni Nezich, and Sofia Soloviy will guide the audience through an inspiring musical journey, featuring performances from La Scala, Covent Garden, the Metropolitan Opera, the Vienna State Opera, the Paris Opera, Teatro Real in Madrid, and many other stages where Kabaivanska’s legacy lives on. The Gala, with the Plovdiv Opera Orchestra, will be conducted by Maestro Nayden Todorov. This event, part of the Plovdiv 2019 festival program, is organized in partnership with New Bulgarian University and with the support of the Italian Embassy in Bulgaria.
Kabaivanska’s School creates generations of opera artists with a recognizable style and masterful technique, trained to express their artistic freedom. “I am proud that when my students perform around the world, they can say, ‘I also studied in Bulgaria,’” says Rayna Kabaivanska, who will personally attend the event.
Tickets for the Opera gala in honor of Rayna Kabaivanska are available at the Opera’s box office, through Eventim networks, and online at grabo.bg and eventim.bg.
