State Opera – Plovdiv announces auditions for expanding the opera chorus with chorus artists of all voice types.

Required application documents:

● CV

Candidates must prepare:

● Two arias from the operatic repertoire (one must be by an Italian composer; the second may be chosen from German, French, Russian, Czech, Bulgarian, or other repertoire).

or

● A song (e.g., Lied, Russian/French romance, sacred music, Bulgarian or contemporary vocal work)
● An aria from the classical operatic repertoire (chosen by the candidate, suitable for their voice type and tessitura)

Candidates must indicate in advance if they require a pianist and, if necessary, send the sheet music.

Requirements:

● Knowledge of Italian, German, French, or English (a level allowing understanding and pronunciation of the text) is desirable.
● Discipline, dedication to the art of opera, and readiness to work in a choral ensemble.

Shortlisted candidates will receive an individual schedule for appearance by 20 March 2026.

The audition will take place on 24 March 2026  at 11:00 AM at the State Opera – Plovdiv building, House of Culture “Boris Hristov,” 15 Gladston St., second floor, Choir Hall “Maria Arnaudova.”
