Syphony 7 "Leningrad"

"Music of Peace" is an international music project celebrating the resilience and spirit of humanity while promoting peaceful coexistence. The project features performances of Shostakovich’s Leningrad Symphony by orchestras in Berlin, Vienna, Plovdiv, Torgau, and the Baltic Sea Philharmonic Orchestra.

Opera Plovdiv Orchestra

As always with Shostakovich, this symphony is dedicated not to a city, event, or political cause but to people—the victims of hunger, cold, bombs, and despair. It transcends politics to focus on humanity's struggle against the banality of evil. Rarely performed due to its scale, complexity, and political biases, the symphony offers audiences in Plovdiv a unique opportunity to experience the haunting Invasion Theme and the catharsis that the music provides.

Admission by invitation only.
