Associate Professor Nina Naydenova’s production transports the audience to the atmosphere of ancient Beijing in an undefined, fairy-tale time where Eastern opulence and splendor blend with bloody cruelty, and reality merges with symbolism. The beautiful Turandot has declared that she will marry only the man who answers her three riddles, but anyone who fails will pay with his life. The impressive set design by Boris Stoinov is enhanced with mapping projections on the Antique Theater, crafted by video designer Petko Tanchev.
