Opera Plovdiv and the Municipality of Plovdiv invite the citizens and guests of the city to the “Classic Open Air” concert featuring special guest Eric Lu – the American pianist and winner of the 19th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw 2025.

The open-air concert with free admission will take place at 8:00 PM on the bridge above Gladston Street and will bring together the soloists and orchestra of Opera Plovdiv under the baton of Eric Lederhandler /Belgium/. The audience will enjoy a festive programme featuring masterpieces from the classical repertoire performed by some of the leading artists of Plovdiv Opera.

The concert features soloists Evgeniya Ralcheva, Kiril Manolov, Maria Radoeva, and Tanya Ivanova, while a special highlight of the evening will be the performance of Eric Lu – one of the most remarkable young pianists on the international stage today.

The accompanying programme will begin at 5:30 PM with a concert by the Children’s Academy of Plovdiv Opera. At 9:30 PM, the Ballet of Opera Plovdiv will present a special performance.

“Classic Open Air” is part of the Cultural Calendar of the Municipality of Plovdiv and the OPERA OPEN festival programme, which transforms the city into an open-air stage for encounters between classical music and a wide audience
